We would like to tell you a few stories so that you can get an idea of what it means to be an author with Gopher.

Peter Pijlman, a renowned Citroen expert and talented writer, had finished a manuscript on the Citron SM. He wrote this book in Dutch but there is no reason why there should not be a market for it in the English language and certainly in France, where the car was designed. Gopher, after conferring with the author, will publish this pearl in three languages and considers its market to be the whole wide world of Citroen lovers.

Linda Vloedgraven, an accomplished artist, had a fairy tail in her head for quite some time and Gopher published the book called Gelf de Waddenelf. The adventure takes place on her parent's island, Ameland in Holland. But the story could just as well take place on any other island, which would of course boost sales. With the Gopher method, it is possible to change the setting to any location.

Nick Woltjer noticed during his work at the Internationale Schakelschool, where he taught English, that the existing teaching methods did not link up with the level of his students. His students come from different parts of the world and from different circumstances. Nick wrote his own method and tested it together with his own students. This turned out to be very successful and Nick asked Gopher to publish his manuscript. Gopher was happy to do so and, together with Nick, is making a typical Gopher edition: the glossary in the back is in the language of the students, be it in French, Arabic or Serbian. The name of the student can be placed in front and this makes the book really personal, for a specific student.

Het Armandomuseum organised an exhibition on the Amersfoort concentration camp.A previously published book on this subject, Geschiedenis Van Een Plek, had been sold out for years and could not even be found at antiquarian booksellers. Gopher republished the book in time for the exhibition and the museum is able to continue ordering copies as long as there is interest in the book. It will never be out of print again.
