Gopher Publishers has issued a special CD for MediaPlaza, on which music and the Internet are connected in a way never shown or heard before. The disk links the classical music of centuries with present day information technology.
International pianist Jan Vayne improvises, exclusively for MediaPlaza, on a famous theme by
Nicolo Paganini. On the CD he plays ten pieces in the style of ten composers who personify the best of western classical music.
Jan Vayne visited the ten demonstration areas in MediaPlaza and carefully associated each one with a composer whose music, he felt, connected with the theme of the exhibition.
Of the twelve tracks on the CD, the first and last are improvisations of the theme in Jan's own style. The CD is a magnificent demonstration of Jan's virtuosity and his unique talent to improvise without any form of sheet music. The performance also highlights MediaPlaza's proactive status within the corporate community.
The Gopher CD "Media Plaza Movements" was officially launched on December 17, 1999 in MediaPlaza, when Jan Vayne gave an unforgettable recital of the disk, the only time it will be performed live.
MediaPlaza is the official Dutch National Demonstration Center for E-commerce and the Digital Highway, founded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, KPN Telecom, ING Banking Group and the Jaarbeurs Utrecht Exposition Centre.
